Our collection of antique rugs date from the 1920s or earlier. These are naturally dyed, handwoven carpets, whose organic dyes only soften over time. Each rug in our collection is carefully evaluated by Joanna, professionally washed and preserved.
We strive to represent the character of each rug and believe that the age of antique rugs adds to their distinctive beauty and the stories behind them. As such, each rug has some form of wear commensurate with their age. Handmade rugs are carefully made and we are working hard to preserve them.

I have always had a love for art history and design. In school, I’d take every art class that I could and would read my favorite design magazines in between. Through traveling, decorating and moving to Upstate New York, I cultivated my appreciation for collecting things that last and I found my way to oriental rugs. The rich history and tradition for carpet weaving sparked a passion for me and in 2016, I founded Upstate Rugs. I learn with every rug I encounter and love the hunt. We’ve had the privilege of working with top designers and our rugs have found their way to beautiful spaces across the country. I hope you enjoy our collection and would love to see you in Hudson.
